Make-up Days for Trash Collection Begin Saturday, Feb. 1
Residents must have trash cans to curb before 8 am
Norfolk, VA – Due to the winter weather, the City of Norfolk has rescheduled waste collection dates for those residents whose trash collection was canceled on Wednesday, January 29, Thursday, January 30 and Friday, January 31.
Waste management crews will collect trash beginning on Saturday, February 1. All residents whose regularly scheduled collection days were canceled MUST place cans to the curb no later than 8:00 a.m. Saturday, February 1. Make-up trash collection will continue through Monday, February 3.
Overflow materials for missed collection routes: Household waste and recycling that does not fit into collection containers should be placed in dark/opaque trash bags and set out beside green collection containers.
Regularly scheduled trash collection resumes Tuesday, February 4.
Recycling, Bulk and Yard Waste Collection Recycling, bulk and yard waste collection will resume next week on Tuesday, February 4. (For recycling, as regularly scheduled every other week; Check www.norfolk.gov/trash/recycling to confirm the recycling schedule for your address).
Overflow recycling materials Recycling that does not fit into recycling collection containers should be set out in clear trash bags beside your blue recycling container on your regular recycling day through Friday, February 14.
Household Hazardous Waste and Electronics Recycling The City’s Drop Off Center for household hazardous waste and electronics will reopen for regular operation on Monday, February 3rd at 10:00am. Regular hours are Monday through Saturday from 10am to 2pm. The Center is located at the City of Norfolk Waste Management Facility, 1176 Pineridge Road.
