Due to the COVID-19 concerns and public health, we will NOT be meeting for March 2020.
Join us for our first meeting of 2020!
We plan to offer Facebook Live streaming for this meeting *IF* it is approved by the membership so that more people can participate. The Cub Scouts will be visiting our meeting to learn about how they can be involved in the community as well!
As we begin 2020 and look forward to another year in our neighborhoods, we would like to invite you to join our Civic League. Membership in this group helps connect you with your neighbors and with City of Norfolk officials so that you can stay informed and have a voice in what happens in our area. Your support helps us host annual events such as our neighborhood yard sale, picnics, and winter holiday socials, print occasional fliers and regular newsletters, and maintain our digital communications. These things are small, but make a difference to our neighbors, particularly those who may not be on social media. Join or renew with the form below or online! Our membership dues this year are increasing slightly from $15 annually to $20 annually (per household).
All are welcome to attend meetings, which are held at 7:00 PM on the 3rd Tuesday of each month at Christ Lutheran Church (6510 N Military Hwy). We would love to see more of our neighbors at these meetings even if you do not choose to become paid members. Our Civic League encompasses some 1100 homes and is one of the largest in the city, yet we have less than 13% of households who have joined or attended a meeting. We know that we cannot adequately represent the interests of our neighborhoods, so we need your voices and thoughts.
This next year will bring a few new options for members, such as being able to join meetings online remotely (for those who cannot make it in person), and an online calendar with recurring dates of interest (recycling days, street sweeping, meetings, etc.). Let’s also bring some new people in the new year!
Join us for our 2019 Holiday party! This event combines our December meeting and our annual party. Our scheduled speaker is our Delegate Joe Lindsey. We are having a potluck, so please bring a dish, dessert, or beverage to share! We are also holding a white elephant gift exchange (limit $20). We are also encouraging winter weather clothing donations for Larrymore Elementary students if you are able to donate. Please check the sign-up sheet to see what people are bringing (linked below)!
